Weak results at Steaua, a conflict which seems to be impossible to be solved with the supporters and less voted from Romanians, all these represent, admits Gigi Becali, the consequence of the insults addressed to Gheorghe Hagi and the way in which he expunged Hagi from Ghencea
At two years after Hagi left from Ghencea, the sponsor of Steaua says that the flash that kindled the scandal at the club started from the way in which he behaved with his godfather.
Gigi Becali has found the reason why he is violently contested by Steaua’s fans in all the matches, no matter if the team plays at home or away. The sponsor from Ghencea says that these things happen because of the behavior he had in the relationship with Gică Hagi, at the end of his commission as coach in Ghencea; "The King" coached there between June and September 2007.
“I LOST WHEN I CRITICISED HAGI!”
"I attacked him then, I offended him, I humiliated him and everything turned against me because I had suffered a lot. Everything started from that point, there was the flash that kindled all the big scandals with the supporters, with the former glories. If the fans are today against me, is because at that time I offended Hagi. That was fatal for me, I have lost 3-4 percent of the Romanians votes", declared Becali in the show "Vorbe grele" ("Heavy words"), from Antena 2, and in the discussions with his close friends this confession is heard every day: "If I knew that we would reach this point, I would have never touched Hagi not even with a word. I was an idiot then".
HOW DID HE HUMILIATE AND OFFEND HAGI
The first attack, immediately after the match CFR - Steaua 0-0
"Hagi shall not believe that he can mock me. If he won’t use Mirel as defender, he should leave! I pay him, he must do whatever I want! I have this right! If I want, I can ballot the players and that team will enter on the field!"
"Olăroiu was an obedient boy. I asked him something and he did it that way; that means that he respected me. If Hagi thinks that he can make anything on my money he is wrong"
The second attack, before the decisive match with BATE Borisov
"Not only that he has nothing to do with coaching, but he thinks himself to be the smartest in the world. Steaua is close to disaster with him as coach, he doesn’t know how to speak and he doesn’t know to make any strategy"
"Hagi destroyed Steaua. I will talk to him again after we qualify in Champions League, if we qualify. Anyway, in the return match with BATE I will write down the team on a sheet of paper and that team I want to see on the field"
"Hagi wants me to listen to him? Why, because he has nothing to do with coaching?! He doesn’t know anything! Did he train at a high level? No, only Oli did that. Oh, I remembered, he won the Turkish Cup, what can I say, it is not a great trophy!"

Gică Hagi didn’t want to comment yesterday Gigi Becali’s declarations. After he heard that the sponsor of Steaua regrets the offences from two years ago, Hagi reacted briefly: "That’s it". Then he added: "I don’t want to comment, I am at Constanţa, with my problems, with the Academy. "We shall let time to pass".
