GSP recomposes the way in which Hagi was banished from Ghencea: «The players, Becali's tools!»

Now, after more than one year and a half from one of the biggest scandals which took place at Steaua, the one between Hagi and Gigi Becali, Gazeta Sporturilor brings today to light, on the basis of the evidences of some persons directly involved in the events from that period, the real story of what happened then.

What we knew until today!
Gigi Becali attacked Hagi violently at that time, saying that even the players told him that hei s not good as a trainer. "Five players came to my palace, including Rădoi, and they told me that Hagi is not capable to make with us not even some routes. The players wanted to make good trainings, but they told me that he doesn’t know to explain them anything. They also called me from the training camp from Olanda and told met o intervene quickly because other wise we can loose everything", said Becali, naming then the five players: Rădoi, Petre Marin, Goian, Dică and Neaga

What did really happened?
The persons whom Gazeta discussed with make some revelations which change the situation very much: "Becali asked them to come to his palace and told them that he will make some declarations that the players told him that Hagi is not a good coach, that he doesn’t know anything. He asked them not to comment in any way if they are asked. He wanted to get rid of Hagi, because he didn’t listen to him in organizing the team, but he didn’t want to affect his image and that is why he used the players".

What happened in the end
Because the sponsor told very clear that Rădoi was the leader of those who accused Hagi, Steaua’s captain was immediately criticized by the fans. On the sites stelisti.ro and gsp.ro, Mirel was violently accused and threatened that he will be hooted in the next match.

Fans’ threatening goes beyond. Steaua’s supporters left a few messages on the door of his apartment and some of them even came at Mirel’s house to ask him why he criticized "The King"! Rădoi got scared, Hagi had found out everything and he decided to intervene and help Rădoi. He left immediately to the house of his player. And here starts an incredible revelation: "It is simple, if Gică hadn’t went there, the scandal could have been even bigger. That is why, if you remember, Mirel was very disappointed then with that situation and he even wanted to give up football, he was really desperate because he had been unjustly involved", added he.

HAGI’S ADVICE BEFORE LEAVING FROM STEAUA

"If he takes your personality, you are nothing!"
After he resigned, "The King" wanted to have the last discussion with the players, in the locker room from Ghencea, his speech being especially for the 5 players named by Becali. One of the players present there narrates: "Hagi seemed to be calm, but his words were very wise and he was right. He said to us: «If you ever accept that someone has the right to take your personality and dignity, only because you are paid by someone, then you will never accomplish anything. Be very careful, because if someone takes you the two things I told you, you won’t accomplish too much in football». Then he left".

Is Ovidiu Petre in the same scenery?
Few days after he said that 5 players came to him in order to claim Hagi’s methods, Gigi Becali said that another football player had bad references about his godfather. "A player who had him as a coach at Galatasaray, too, told met hat he had the same treatment there", said Becali, who didn’t utter the name of the player, but the only one who corresponded with the description was Ovidiu Petre. What was his reaction? "I have never spoken with any president, not even with Mr.  Becali, about any coach. And I will never do this. I wouldn’t say anything wrong about Hagi.  I worked with him at so many teams. How shall criticize Hagi, the man who named me captain at Timişoara and trusted me?!", said "Wire".

WHAT SAID RĂDOI THEN

"We have been called to the palace!"
Mirel Rădoi, the one indicated by Gigi Becali as the players who lead the revolt against-Hagi, made at that time some declarations which support the revelations made by GSP today. "It wasn’t our decision to got o the palace. The sponsor called us. I have no fault, I am really sorry because of all this scandal", said Rădoi in an interview given for TVR after the scandal broke out.

Mirel Rădoi: "I am not a symbol for Steaua! I cannot compare with Hagi!"

The next day after his demission, Gazeta Sporturilor published an interview on two pages with Hagi, and he was asked also about the players’ plot.
- Mr.  Hagi, were the players against you...
- Please wait, wait and leave them alone!
- Why?
- Gigi knows better. I think the players were used in this scandal. Maybe, if he didn’t have success with them, either, the spectators would have been the next victims and so on and so fourth.
