The national team obtained the first victory from 2010! Daniel Niculae (20), Florescu (45Ă1) and Rădoi (76) repaired the image tousled by the team in the previous friendly matches
After 3 consecutive failures, "the tricolors" defeated last night Honduras, the team qualified at the 2010 World Cup, after an evolution which contented Răzvan Lucescu.
For 10 years we have been out of step most of the time. When everybody prepared for the World Cup, we are preparing for the European Cup, and inverse. Except for Euro 2008, "the tricolors" had been reliable "sparring-partners" for the teams qualified at the final tournaments. This way we did in 2002, with Poland (2-1), in 2004, with Germany (5-1) and in 2006, with Paraguay (0-2).
This way happened even yesterday with Honduras, who made at St. Veit an der Glan, the last test with "the tricolors" before leaving to South Africa. "Los Catrachos" has no victory in the last 4 friendly matches, we have 3 defeats of 3 matches in 2010. We had almost equal forces, with Florescu the only new player in comparison with the previous matches and with Tănase "Dodel18" left on the bench.
Better than the Hondurans players
Decided to repair the shame of defeats with Ukraine (2-3) and Macedonia (0-1), "the tricolors" played with an unusual determination and they controlled tactically the game from one corner to another. Even Deac woke up and gave a goal pass to Daniel Niculae for 1-0.
The match phase at 2-0
Goian was the only one with his mind in vacation. The defender of Palermo wanted to play the role of coach in the middle of the field and he moved the players from Honduras on the counter-attack (34). We were lucky that they got graveled in front of the goalpost and we got off only with a corner. "The tricolors" managed to please Răzvan Lucescu just a little, managing to return with 2-0 at the cabins. Florescu a spart şi el gheaţa la lot, finalizînd o fază şnur care a curs pe traseul Bilaşco - Raţ - Niculae.
In the second half, Romania played more to keep the result. In the end, Deac was hacked in the penalty area and Rădoi changed the score in 3-0 from a penalty. This way, the national team obtained the first victory in 2010. Unfortunately, our players are leaving in vacation, and Honduras goes to the World Cup; but with the moral "tousled" after the forfait defeat with our "tricolors".
7 months have passed from the last victory of the "tricolors", 1-0 away, in the friendly match from Poland, on 14th of November 2009
