The Croats defeated us and that is why we are worried. There are 43 days left until the match with Serbia.
Our team started courageous, having the first two occasions through Costea (3) and Marica (8). The two collaborated very well especially in the first part of the match, with balls perpendicular on the forward.
Besides, this way they scored the first goal, to which contributed also Cociş, with a throw which was for the forward from Craiova, but finalised by the player from Stuttgart, after a lucky deviation from the gusts defensive. :) The best occasion of the first half was made by Codrea, who shot powerfully from outside the box a little bit over the goalpost, also after a combination between Costea and Marica.
WE HAVE ALSO WEAKNESS :(
In time, the national team of football trained by Piţurcă showed also its weakness. One of them: Tamaş, who lost very easily a few balls, but the most dangerous was in the 17th minute, when he left Petrici alone with Lobonţ, but the Croat shot over the goalpost. We received quite easily the goal from the fixed phase, when Lobonţ didn’t sincronise at all with the defenders

The Croatians served us the pressing cart after the break, managing to floor our defenders. Cociş missed the separation (59), alone with Pletikosa, confirming that is not in maximum shape. Marica confirmed, too, that he is happy with his new girlfriend: a spectacular heel, in the Croatian blocking (63).
GOIAN OUTSTRIPED
Nicoliţă’s entrance in stead of Petre, after the break, reduced the number of centers which came from the right side, and reduced by default the number of our occasions. The second goal given by Croatia, signed by Kranjcar (75), revealed that defense is our weakness, with a Goian turned back three times in the same phase by the Croatian forwards.
“Tricolors” outstripped by the kids
Before the beginning of the match, when they sang the anthem, but those who excelled were not the players from the national team, but the children who were in front of them, some of them were singing "Deşteaptă-te române" with more pathos than the football players. The child who was sitting in front of Lobonţ was the most passionate of all, singing the loudest the lines of the anthem.. (George Ştucan)
Rădoi and Neşu, discussions on the ground
Before the starting of the second half, the former players from Steaua, Neşu and Rădoi, discussed in the middle of the ground for a few seconds. Although it was rumored that the relationship between the two is not very good because Rădoi called him "crazy" in one of the stenographs, Neşu, entered on the ground in the break made jokes with the player from Al Hilal. Marica at the goal "Damn it!" :O
Few seconds after he scored, the forward from Sttutgart turned happily to the supporters and he exclaimed unfettered: "Damn it!". Ciprian Marica (23 years old) put in his account the 10th goal in the T-shirt of the national team, for which he played in 29 matches. Banderoles for Cozma
The match between Romania and Croatia was preceded by a moment of recollections in Marian Cozma’s memory, the Romanian handball player killed on Sunday in Hungary, at Veszprem. On the electronic scoreboard of the stadium appeared pictures with "Păsărilă" and the message: "We will never forget you". In the scandal in which the Romanian was killed, another colleague was injured, the Croatian Ivan Pesic, who lost a kidney. The players of both teams wore blak banderoles, and the public, Romanians and Croatians, applauded permanently.
CONTRA CAPTAIN
In default of the leaders Cristi Chivu and Adrian Mutu, the banderole of national team captain arrived last evening to Cosmin Contra. The player of 33 years old had for the 6th time the responsibility of leading the "tricolors" on the ground. Anyway, in Ghencea there was a player who was selected at the national team more than "Guriţă". Lobonţ, with 71 matches at the national team, outstripped the right defender, who has only 69 selections. (George Ştucan)
Gina, the new Adelina
Ciprian Marica managed to score in the second consecutive match for the national team. The last goal of the “Samurai” being scored in the friendly match with Georgia, from November 2008, score 2-1. The forward was supported from the stand by his mother and his lover Gina Pistol, the two women discussing with each other. Before the match, Marica declared: “I would like to score a goal which I want to dedicate to my mother, because it was her birthday”. (George Ştucan)
Lupescu and Sandu avoided each other when they arrived
When he arrived at the stadium, the president from FRF, Mircea Sandu, came with his daughter, Raluca. After a few seconds appeared also Ionuţ Lupescu, but he went immediately in the loge, without saying “hello” to the “Godfather”, ;) although he was just at a few meters distance from him. Nevertheless, the two set one near the other and they watched the match. The relations between the two changed very much, after the present general manager from FRF declared that he wants to candidate to the forum leadership from House of Sports, against his present chief. Costea wore the T-shirt with no. 10
Just the same like in the match played in Feroe, Florin Costea took over both the responsibilities of the absent Adrian Mutu and the number 10 from the T-shirt. Compared many times with the "Brilliant" from Florentine, the forward who came from Craiova assumed steadily his role, although Florentin Petre trained at la Mogoşoaia with number 10. The T-shirt with no. 5, worn usually by Chivu, was dressed last evening by the player from Steaua Ovidiu Petre. (Ionuţ Petrişor)

Defeating, 1-3 with Slovenia
The youth representative lost yesterday the friendly match played away with Slovenia score 3-1. The goal of the "tricolors" was scored by Gîngioveanu, in the minute 80, from a penalty, at the score of 3-0. "I am discontented both with the result and the match, but maybe this defeating is welcomed, in order to be able to repair the mistakes until the first official match", declared Emil Săndoi. He used the fromula: Lung jr. (Lungu 60) -Bărboianu (Doman 60), Găman, Cordoş, Vagner (S. Ilie, 46) -Gîngioveanu, Bicfalvi, Iorga (Răduţă 60), Ochiroşii (Buhaiescu 46) - L.
