Mediaş will play in League 1, after FC Argeş were sent in "B"
FC Argeş finished the last season on the 10th place, but next year it will evolve in League 2! This was the decision made yesterday by the Discipline Commission, after 4 hours of studying the indictment sent by DNA in the case of corruption scandal from arbitration. At the same time, the sponsor Cornel Penescu, who is now in arrest, the executive president Cristian Mincă and the president CA, Gheorghe Pieca, have been declared persona non grata and surcharged with 300.000 lei each other.
"This shouldn’t happen this way, although I expected to. We are going to take action against this decision, but maybe it will be useless. We will lose two millions euro after this retrograde. What is going to happen if justice decides that Cornel Penescu is innocent!", commented the son of the sponsor from Trivale, Andrei Penescu. The officials from FC Argeş may appeal in 5 days, and if the Appeal Commission won’t give them a favorable answer, Gaz Metan Mediaş will remain in League 1 and will take FC Argeş’s schedule. "We are happy! They couldn’t decide something else, taking into consideration the proves from the file", declared the president from Gaz Metan, Codrin Cindrea.
