The publication Irish Independent writes that the team Saint Patrick's suffered in the match with Steaua, which took place without spectators, and thinks that the team from Bucharest, who defeated them with 3-0, deserves to impose itself more clearly in the first round of the play-off of Europe League.
"The saints suffered, but at least they suffered in silence. Saint Patrick's defended in a courageous manner, but the hosts obtained a clear victory, as it was expected, although the stadium Steaua was empty. The guests had some occasions of goal, and their materialization would have been a real miracle for the return match, but the truth is that they were overtaken by a superior force. The million euro after the qualification in the groups goes to Bucharest and to the sponsor Gigi Becali, who broke the silence when he came out of the loge to make some comments when the victory was clear", writes the source above mentioned.
The press notes that the Irish team could have profit by the fact that Steaua didn’t have supporters on the stands. "The 70 fans that made the trip saw the match as if they were at the cinema, behind the windows and they couldn’t make an appearance. The teams appeared on the ground in deep silence, besides the techno-pop music which wasn’t necessary", rates also the Irish newspaper.
"The atmosphere on the stadium was strange. The music spoke in the diffusers, and on the score board it was a commercial at the reply T-shirts. The mobile phone of one steward rand during the match, and his discussion could be heard from a big distance. The Irish fans couldn’t support the team, but Becali appeared at the window, to the local press delight, and he started to encourage his players", wrote the online edition of Irish Times.
