Following the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Romanian Football Federation, which took place today, Victor Piturca is no longer the coach of the national team.
The defeats against Serbia and Austria have been decisive in the decision of the Federation, the chances to reach the final tournament being largely compromised.
After the European Championships in Austria and Switzerland, Victor Piturca signed a contract extension until the end of 2010. The contract provided that the manager can be sacked if the chances of qualifying where compromised, otherwise, if removed, he would have received 600,000 euros.
