Superproducţia " Avatar" a strîns nu mai puţin de 1,283 de miliarde de dolari din încasările realizate în afara Americii de Nord şi a depăşit astfel " Titanic"-ul, aflat de 13 ani în postura de lider, cu 1,242 de miliarde.
Totuşi, în SUA şi Canada, filmul mai trebuie să recupereze aproximativ 50 de milioane de dolari faţă de competitiorul său direct, totalizînd în prezent 552,8 milioane de dolari spre deosebire de cele 600,8, cît are Titanic.
