Răzvan Lucescu was appointed today in the post of spotter of the Romanian national team. Almost all the people from football reacted positively, but there were some voices which said that the present coach from Braşov would have been installed in the post of spotter because of his father influence, Mircea Lucescu.
GSP presents below all the declarations with respect to Răzvan Lucescu’s appointment as spotter:
"The officials from FRF have made the best choice. Răzvan Lucescu is the right coach for the national team. We regret that we won’t work at Braşov with him and it will be hard to replace him, but we have to go on.
Răzvan is a person who leaves a lot of good things behind him and that is why he is very appreciated and respected. I am sure that he will make a good job at the national team" - Robert Ilyeş, midfielder at FC Braşov
"I congratulated him. It’s a pity that we won’t work with him anymore, but I am glad for Răzvan. This is a forward step in his career, and for us this is a loss. That’s life, everybody follows his aim. He is a young coach, but this doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have value.
He is always documenting, a proof being the fact that he instructed himself at great teams along his career. He is a good teacher, everywhere he was, he created a very good atmosphere and I am sure that he will do the same at the national team.
He is no. 1 in creating a homogenous group. And now, it is a good moment to create a new atmosphere at the national team" - Marius Măldărăşanu, midfielder FC Braşov
"I think that FRF has made the best choice. I am glad for him. I don’t think that being very young is a disadvantage. I am sure that he will manage to create a very good atmosphere at the national team, too, as it happened at Rapid and Braşov" - Romeo Surdu, forward FC Braşov
"If I think about his international performances, Răzvan Lucescu is the best coach in the history of Rapid. I compare Mircea Lucescu with Napoleon; he is a very educated and competent person. On the other hand, Răzvan has the amazing desire to do great things and the passion which may bring him great results.
When I realized how appreciated he is, I brought him two extraordinary players at the team, Costin Lazăr and Ionuţ Mazilu. I wouldn’t have let him go, but another close friend of him decided that was time to go to Braşov" - George Copos, shareholder at Rapid

"The responsibility for Răzvan Lucescu’s appointment in the post of spotter belongs entirely to the officials from the federation. If they reached to this variant, it means that it is a good one, and there existed some criteria" - Valeriu Argăseală, the president from Steaua
"I had a discussion with Răzvan and he proposed to me to be the second coach and not trainer with the goalkeepers, as it was rumoured. I will discuss with him once again and if everything is ok, I will give up the football player career.
Răzvan is an enthusiastic coach, who has been training for 5 years, and he has an important experience. The national team is in a moment when something needs to be changed and for this an enthusiastic coach is the key.
The fact that he managed to create a good atmosphere in every team he trained it was very important in choosing him as spotter. From this point of view I don’t think that exists a coach in the country who can surpass him" - Bogdan Stelea, goalkeeper at FC Braşov
"I am not in the position to comment the decision taken by FRF, but if we take into account that I and Răzvan Lucescu are colleagues and he is a young coach with good perspective, I am alongside him, I wish him to have a lot of success and good luck" - Petre Grigoraş, coach at Oţelul
"He is a young and efficient coach, very motivated and he also has the great advantage of being Mircea Lucescu’s son, who need to help and support him. This is a great advantage, we don’t have to hide this thing, he should make the best of this" - Ioan Ovidiu Sabău, coach at Gloria Bistriţa
"I think this is the best choice. Just like Gică Hagi, Răzvan is a very correct coach and dedicated to his profession, as far as I know he is capable of dedicating 24 hours of 24 to football. He is a young coach, and this change was necessary, he always proved to be a very elegant person in his vocabulary. I wish him a lot of success. I don’t think that Mircea Lucescu will stay behind him, Razvan will make by himself the tactic" - Marius Stan, the president of Oţelul Galaţi
