Lucian Bute declared in a interview for a radio network in Montreal that he will surely fight Jean Pascal in the future and the match will be an epic-battle.
"It all rests in the hands of the promoters. The fight will surely take place in a couple of months, maybe a year or two. HBO is interested and Jean Pascal also wants to fight me. There is a huge interest in Quebec and if we both work we could make a mega-battle", said Bute, according to Mediafax.
"For now I am focused on my next fight. I am staying at 76,2 kg because i think this is the best category and i have much to do at this level", said Bute, mentioning that he wants to be the best at his category before making his way up to Pascal. "It's very hard to reach a higher category and then to go back. Pascal is the one who decided to move to 79,4, not me. I will make my way up, but not right now".
Asked if he is "the king of boxing" in Montreal, Lucian Bute laughed: "I didn't declare myself king, this is Pascal's way, not mine. I respect his style and his fighting skills. One day we will fight in the ring and we will se who is the better fighter", said Bute.
Lucian Bute will fight Jesse Brinkley (35 victories, 22 KO's and five defeats) in Montreal on October 15th.
